But special mention needs to be made regarding the Mammograms at Kiaat Private Hospital. The Mammogram equipment is so sophisticated that the specialist will be able to take breast biopsies by using three dimensional location. This equipment will be used as part of the Breast Clinic that will open at the hospital. This Clinic will bring together a multidisciplinary team with which the women can consult in one day.
Multiple of the surgical disciplines will be available at the hospital. These vary from Orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, and general surgery. Plastic surgery, ophthalmology, ear nose and throat surgery, and maxilla facial surgery allows for all your needs. We will also be delivering thoracic surgery and urology services.
The whole Maternity section, which include admission before and after labour, is housed in one “Birthing Unit”. This Unit includes a Neonatal ICU that will be serviced by a Paediatrician specialising in neonatology. The Unit has a comfortable lounge especially for the waiting Dads. With the lovely view over the Lowveld from this Unit, and the skills of the Obstetricians, there is no better place for the family to come and welcome their new born.
You will be able to receive a hip or knee replacement as part of a specialised multi-disciplinary team. This team will assist you to understand exactly what you can expect before, during and after your replacement surgery. The aim is to get you through your replacement surgery as effortlessly as possible, reducing cost to you and your medical aid.
Another centre of excellence at Kiaat Private Hospital will be that of the Intensive Care Unit. A specialised intensivist will be looking after our patients. An intensivist is a specialist doctor, which went back to university to study even further to manage patients requiring intensive care. Having a “super specialist” on board will lead to better clinical outcomes.
Our facilities will include an Emergency and Trauma Unit that will be open 24 hours a day.
